The (Assistant) Ice Cream Maker makes all of the goods! This person is responsible for all ice cream production, scheduling production, and organizing and maintaining the production space at our Ahwatukee location. An ideal candidate for this position would have a passion for learning, a background in baking or working in a kitchen environment and developed communication and management skills. The Assistant/Ice Cream Maker position is a part-time position.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist management as directed in all designated activities, including, but not limited to the following:
- Produce ice cream according to the daily production schedule
- Follow the recipe and production protocol explicitly - carefully weigh and measure all ingredients as specified
- Perform beginning of day and end of day cleaning responsibilities
- Maintain freezer space and ice cream inventory
- Complete and file daily production logs
- Package ice cream into labeled pint containers
- Make additional ice cream SKUs: ice cream cakes, ice cream sandwich packs, pupsicles
- Always be on the lookout for ways to improve efficiency
- Follow all health code regulations and complete daily cleaning checklist
- Ability to effectively communicate with management - we're a small team in a growing business and need excellent communication skills!
- Responsibilities to elevate pay level: Set production schedule, maintain kitchen/ingredient inventory, handle re-orders of ingredients and store runs, as needed, transport ice cream to our other store
REQUIREMENTS:
- Availability to work on an as needed basis, shifts will vary based on production needs
- General safety responsibilities: personal protective equipment adherence, warehouse safety, safe lifting, knife safety, etc.
- Knowledge of allergen protocols, food safety procedures
- Safe and efficient use of equipment
- Recipe compliance, achieving specs and producing the highest quality product
- Accurately and safely storing all inventory according to FIFO (first in, first out)
- Reporting accurate information, ensuring all documentation contains all relevant detail
- Collaborating with team members to ensure open communication, smooth production
- Proactively looking ahead and checking inventory/supplies for future production
- General care and mindfulness to set the next shift up for success
- Carry a current Food Handlers Card
- Intermittently working in a very cold environment (freezer)
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
- The Ice Cream Maker will be an hourly position comprising of hourly rate and tips, depending on experience and ability to take on all above tasks
