Full Job Description

Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the personal injury billing process, ensuring accurate coding and timely submission of claims. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and the healthcare billing process. The Medical Biller will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of our practice by effectively managing medical records and collections.

Duties

Review patient records to ensure all necessary documentation is complete for billing purposes.
Accurately code diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10 and DRG coding systems.
Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies and follow up on outstanding claims.
Manage accounts receivable by tracking payments and resolving discrepancies.
Communicate with patients regarding billing inquiries, payment plans, and collection efforts.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical billing regulations and compliance standards.
Collaborate with medical staff to ensure accurate coding and documentation practices are followed.
Utilize medical office systems for record keeping, billing processes, and reporting.

Requirements

Proficiency in medical terminology and understanding of medical records management.
Experience with medical billing, coding, and collections is preferred.
Familiarity with ICD-10 coding standards and DRG classifications.
Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Effective communication skills for interacting with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers.
Knowledge of relevant software systems used in medical billing and coding processes is advantageous.
