Duties
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system efficiently to process retail sales transactions accurately and swiftly
- Handle cash register operations, including cash handling, balancing cash drawers, and issuing receipts
- Provide outstanding customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and offering product recommendations
- Provide fresh hot foods for our deli by keeping records of heat times and being prompt in making more food when needed.
- Assist with stocking shelves, merchandising displays, and maintaining organized store layouts to promote sales
- Assist customers with refilling of their Propane tanks. We provide on-the-job training for this.
- upkeep of cleanliness within the store and parking areas, as well as vigilant with the occasional cleaning of customer spills and dirt.
Experience
- Previous experience in retail sales or cashiering is preferred; we value enthusiasm and a proactive can-do attitude.
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash register operations, and retail math for accurate transactions is highly desirable
- Bilingual skills are preferred but not required for serving diverse customer bases effectively
- Strong communication skills are essential for delivering excellent customer service and engaging product demonstrations
- Knowledge of retail store product lines and merchandising principles will help you succeed in this role
- Basic math skills are necessary for handling cash transactions accurately and managing the cash drawer
- Previous experience with food production and handling are a plus but not required. We provide on-the-job training for this.
- Patience and some understanding for customers who struggle are required for this position. We have a diverse group of customers all with different needs and ways of interacting.

We are currently hiring for a backup person for call ins and late arrivals. the position will only have about four to 10 hours a week regularly, however pending people being sick or unable to make it, there could be more. This could also turn into a more permanent position if it works out that way.
