A Day in the Life
As an Operator, you’ll play a key role in producing high-quality products by setting up, operating, and maintaining a variety of manufacturing equipment. On a typical day, you will:
Operate & Maintain Equipment
- Set up, operate, and adjust machines to meet production specifications
- Work with equipment such as punch presses, press brakes, furnaces, cranes, forklifts, conveyors, and other production machinery
- Perform basic equipment upkeep and keep your work area clean, safe, and organized
Production & Process Execution
- Perform a variety of manufacturing processes including forming, cutting, assembling, heating, painting, and finishing
- Handle materials through processes like boxing, palletizing, banding, and stacking
- Follow routing sheets and work instructions to ensure accurate production
Quality & Inspection
- Inspect parts using calipers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools
- Perform visual inspections and ensure products meet quality standards
- Record production output, scrap, and required data
- Support quality processes including SPC (Statistical Process Control) as needed
Additional Responsibilities
- Separate and sort parts throughout production
- Maintain accurate production records
- Use hand tools (employee-provided) as needed to support operations
- Follow all safety and operational procedures

Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to stand and/or sit for extended periods (8+ hours) and perform repetitive tasks
- Full use of hands with the ability to walk, see, and hear effectively in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to lift and handle materials throughout the shift, including:
- Up to 50 lbs regularly
- 65 lbs continuously
- Up to 100 lbs occasionally (short distances)
- Ability to push/pull up to 415 lbs (assisted movement)
- Comfortable working on platforms and moving materials across equipment (e.g., die carts)
