Job Requirements and Responsibilities
As a part-time Book Publishing Coordinator, your responsibilities will focus on onboarding and coordinating with book authors throughout the publishing process. This entails capturing book specs, facilitating communication between an author and their editor, cover designer, formatter, and marketing team. You’ll also be responsible for setting and reiterating expectations and realistic time frames based on the deliverables for each author.
You’ll work from the comfort of your home office Monday through Friday. Your expected workload is 20- 22 hours per week, and you'll choose a regular schedule of 12:00pm - 4:30pm or 12:30pm - 5:00pm ET.
You will NOT be asked to work weekends, holidays, or evenings (in fact, we don't allow that).
To be successful in this role, you’ll need to be consistent at following workflows, proactive in communication, and empathetic with authors who can get nervous when going through an unfamiliar process of publishing their book which is often a life-long dream.
It’s your responsibility to build and maintain a healthy working relationship with your fellow teammates, and to deliver high caliber work daily. The rewards are great working relationships, friendship, author satisfaction, and random accolades.
Expectations:
- Consistent, high-speed internet (100 Mbps download / 20 Mbps upload)
- Tidy workspace with professional background for video calls
- Daily work attendance (M-F, not including PTO days, of course)
- Exhibit consistent time-management to prioritize tasks
- Maintain and enhance task documentation
- Set clear expectations when accepting work (estimated duration, ETA, etc.)

To perform the job to a high standard, you’ll need to demonstrate some basic technical skills.

Compensation & Benefits:
Part-time W2 hourly position: $19.05 per hour
