Assistant Banquet Director

Strategic Allies LLC DBA ASA Agency is a recruiting and staffing firm currently seeking an experienced Assistant Banquet Director for an award-winning luxury hotel known for exceptional event execution, high-profile meetings, elegant banquets, weddings, and large-scale events ranging from 500–2,000 guests.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate thrives in a high-end hospitality environment, can effectively lead large teams, remains composed under pressure, and possesses strong operational, financial, and human resources management experience.

Key ResponsibilitiesBanquet Operations

Oversee daily banquet operations and event execution.
Coordinate with Event Planning, Sales, Culinary, and Hotel Operations teams.
Manage banquet staffing, scheduling, labor productivity, and service standards.
Monitor inventory, equipment, supplies, and operational resources.
Ensure compliance with sanitation, safety, and hotel operating standards.
Lead departmental meetings and ongoing operational improvements.
Maintain knowledge of current event trends, food and beverage service, and luxury hospitality standards.

Guest Experience

Deliver exceptional guest service and maintain high customer satisfaction scores.
Resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally.
Monitor service quality and implement corrective action when necessary.
Build strong relationships with clients, meeting planners, and event attendees.

Leadership & Human Resources

Recruit, train, coach, and develop banquet team members.
Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback.
Foster a positive, collaborative, and accountable work environment.
Manage employee relations, disciplinary processes, and recognition programs.
Ensure team members are properly trained and cross-trained.

Financial Management

Assist in managing departmental budgets and operating expenses.
Oversee payroll administration and labor cost controls.
Monitor revenue opportunities and support upselling initiatives.
Ensure accurate event billing and financial reporting.
Support profitability goals while maintaining exceptional service standards.

Qualifications

3+ years of banquet, event, hotel, or hospitality management experience preferred.
Experience leading large teams in luxury hospitality or high-volume event environments.
Strong knowledge of banquet operations, food & beverage service, and event management.
Experience with scheduling, payroll, budgeting, forecasting, and P&L management.
Excellent communication, leadership, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
Knowledge of OSHA, safety, sanitation, and hospitality compliance standards.
Proficiency with hotel management systems and Microsoft Office.
High School Diploma required; bachelor's degree in hospitality management or related field preferred.

Schedule

Full-Time
Must be available weekdays, weekends, evenings, and holidays.
Flexible schedule required based on event demands.
