Full-Time Comfort Dog Handler – Assisted Living Facility
We are looking for an experienced, compassionate, and dependable professional dog handler to join our Comfort Dog Program and work full-time inside an assisted living facility.
We will provide a fully trained Labradoodle. The handler will be responsible for working with the dog throughout the day, facilitating positive interactions with residents, and maintaining the dog’s existing training and professional behavior.
This is a very special position for someone who genuinely loves dogs and enjoys working with seniors. Our Comfort Dog Program is designed to bring companionship, happiness, affection, and meaningful interaction to residents, so we are looking for someone with a warm personality who understands that they are representing both our company and the program.
Position Details & Requirements:
- Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
- Full-time position – available immediately
- BILINGUAL - English and Spanish
- Must have professional dog handling or training experience
- Must be confident handling and maintaining the training of a fully trained Labradoodle
- Must be willing and able to house the dog as part of their household
- Responsible for the dog’s daily care, exercise, grooming needs, and continued training/reinforcement
- Must have a reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license
- Must be dependable, professional, patient, friendly, and comfortable interacting with elderly residents, staff, and families
- Must maintain a clean and professional appearance
- Experience with service dogs, therapy/comfort dogs, obedience training, or professional dog handling is strongly preferred
The dog, initial training, and instructions for maintaining the dog’s training will be provided.
