Full Job Description

A diverse litigation law firm focused on maritime, personal injury and commercial litigation is looking for a billing specialist to join our accounting team. The billing specialist will be responsible for processing monthly client billings, as well as coordinating with accounting staff, attorneys, and legal assistants to ensure the highest level of accuracy. The ideal candidate will have at least three (3) years of billing experience, preferably within a law firm setting. You must be comfortable with billing software (preferably PC Law), can handle monthly billing cycles accurately and in accordance with client billing guidelines, and is comfortable with interacting with attorneys and staff.

The successful candidate will be able to prioritize in a fast-paced environment with a keen ability to meet and adhere to deadlines. The candidate should be a team player with a positive, professional attitude, and have strong follow-up skills, strong attention to detail, and excellent written and verbal communications. This position reports directly to the firms CFO.

Responsibilities to include:

Client billing - Reviews and edits prebills in accordance with attorney requests
Posting of prebills and statements
Ability to handle a high volume of bills per month
Create billing schedules with follow-up on same
Creates and prints final client billing
Posting of client costs
Transferring of time between matters
Accounts payable - immediate posting of payables (firm and client charges)
Assists the CFO in all accounting functions as needed
Assist with time entry
Process monthly attorney reimbursements

Qualifications

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and billing software (preferably legal)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must have strong organizational skills

Minimum 3-years' experience in a similar position

Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
