Job Summary
Works closely with Interact and the School Director to oversee the administrative operations and act as the liaison with the University, affiliated centers and research teams.
- Works closely with Interact, the School Director and associate directors in the planning of operational initiatives related to intramural and extramural activities.
- Plans and directs the administrative operational actives of the Interact program. Supervises support and professional staff in Interact and its sub-units.
- Exercises independent judgement and initiative by brining information or problems attention to the Interact leadership.
- Provides financial oversight of the program. Reviews Education and General Revenue (E&G) and Contracts & Grants (C&G) financial records and provides information and support to both the Interact leadership and individual faculty with respect to HR, Travel or Purchasing related issues.
- Works closely with the School Director and Interact leadership with establishment and monitoring of deadlines for project implementations, report generation and general compliance issues.
- Complies, updates and keeps records of the programs annual performance. Provides appropriate projections and expenditures of IDC and E&G budgets.
- Coordinate, in-person and online intra and extramural meetings and conferences as needed.
- Advises faculty, post-doctoral associates and students regarding FIU policies and procedures as needed.
- Assist faculty associated with Interact in the general areas of grant management, human resource administration, purchasing, proposal preparation, certification effort, credentialing and travel.
- Serves as the liaison between Interact, the Moss School of Construction, Infrastructure and Sustainability, the College of Engineering and Computing, Office of Research and Economic Development (ORED) and other FIU administrative units.
- Serves as the University's credit card user for departmental transactions. Adheres to University's rules and regulations.
- Visits Miami Dade County Public Schools as needed.
- Serves as the merchant account's primary contact or technical contact; Handles sensitive cardholder information and/or processes credit cards transactions for the department/unit. Employee will have access to a third party system (software, gateway, etc.) that processes, transmits, and/or stores cardholder information.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, education, or related field and six (6) years of related work experience or Master's degree in business, education, or related field and four (4) years of related work experience.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience managing research related activities.
