Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Clinical Documentation Specialist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of clinical documentation within our facility. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding practices, and healthcare regulations. The Clinical Documentation Specialist will collaborate with healthcare providers to improve documentation quality and support optimal patient care.

Responsibilities

Review clinical documentation for accuracy and completeness in accordance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to clarify documentation discrepancies.
Conduct utilization reviews to ensure appropriate resource utilization and compliance with managed care policies.
Utilize electronic health record systems, such as Kinnser, to maintain accurate patient records.
Apply knowledge of ICD-10 coding standards to ensure proper coding for diagnoses and procedures.
Analyze data related to clinical documentation trends and provide feedback for improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Strong knowledge of medical terminology and clinical documentation practices.
Familiarity with electronic health record systems, particularly Kinnser.
Previous experience in a hospital or nursing home environment is advantageous.
Understanding of ICD-10 coding guidelines is essential.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are necessary for maintaining accurate records.
