Aqua Fusion Academy provides professional, personalized swim instruction and aquatic safety services for children, adults, families, and individuals with varying swimming abilities. Our goal is to build confident swimmers while maintaining the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and customer service.
Position Overview
Aqua Fusion Academy is looking for responsible, energetic, and professional Swim Instructors & Lifeguards to join our team. Instructors will provide high-quality swim lessons at clients’ homes and private pools while maintaining a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment.
Depending on qualifications and scheduling needs, instructors may also provide lifeguarding services for private events.
Responsibilities
Swim Instruction
- Conduct private and/or small-group swimming lessons.
- Teach students of different ages and skill levels, from beginners to advanced swimmers.
- Follow Aqua Fusion Academy’s approved teaching methods and lesson expectations.
- Develop students’ water confidence, swimming technique, endurance, and safety skills.
- Adapt instruction to each student’s individual abilities and learning pace.
- Maintain a positive, patient, and encouraging environment.
- Communicate professionally with parents, guardians, and clients regarding student progress.
- Arrive prepared and on time for every scheduled lesson.
- Complete any required lesson documentation or attendance records.
Lifeguarding
- Provide professional lifeguarding services at private events and aquatic activities.
- Maintain constant and appropriate surveillance of swimmers.
- Enforce pool safety rules and respond appropriately to emergencies.
- Perform rescues and provide emergency care within the scope of your certifications and training.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor while on duty.
- Complete required safety checks before and during events.
Required Qualifications
- Current lifeguard certification from a recognized organization.
- Emergency medical technician license
- Current CPR/AED certification.
- Current First Aid certification.
- Strong swimming ability.
- Ability to work independently and responsibly.
- Reliable transportation to assigned clients and events.
- Professional communication and customer-service skills.
- Ability to work with children and adults.
- Must be comfortable teaching in residential/private pools.
- Must pass any required background screening.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous swim instruction experience.
- Water Safety Instructor (WSI) or equivalent certification.
- Experience working with infants, toddlers, children, adults, or swimmers with disabilities.
- Previous private-event lifeguarding experience.
- Additional aquatic or emergency-response certifications.

- Put student and guest safety first.
- Maintain a professional appearance and attitude.
- Be punctual and prepared.
- Communicate schedule changes or cancellations as early as possible.
- Treat clients, students, families, and other instructors with respect.
- Protect client privacy and maintain confidentiality.
- Follow all Aqua Fusion Academy safety policies and procedures.
- Never leave students unattended during a lesson.
- Represent Aqua Fusion Academy professionally at all times.
Schedule
Schedules are flexible and based on instructor availability and client demand. Lessons may be available during:
- Weekdays
- Evenings
- Weekends
- School breaks and holidays
- Private events
Instructors may choose their availability, but once a lesson or event is accepted, they are expected to honor the commitment.
Compensation
Compensation is based on the type of service provided, experience, qualifications, and assignment.
Additional opportunities may be available for instructors who are able to take on additional students, recurring clients, or private lifeguarding events.
