Full Job Description

Overview

The HR Generalist is responsible for managing key HR processes and activities, including payroll garnishments, workers' compensation claims, FMLA tracking, benefits, recruitment coordination, and various employee-related matters. This role also involves supporting organizational needs in compliance, employee engagement, and process optimization.

This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence every stage of the employee lifecycle while working in a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.

Essential Functions

Recruitment

Conduct recruitment efforts for all nonexempt staff, writing and placing advertisements. Prepare job postings and post on job boards. Work closely with Workforce representative.
Conduct Job Fairs as needed to assist Operations with current open positions.
Work closely with management to provide guidance and assistance through the screening of qualified candidates.

FMLA/ADA

Responsible for the administration of the FMLA/ADA process (new requests/required certifications, communicate with management & employee, monitor RTW notices). Maintain FMLA log/spreadsheet updated. Prepare FMLA correspondence as requested. If FMLA/ADA cases become an employee relations concern or legal issue, partner with HR Director to handle the case.

Workers' Compensation

Responsible for full Workers' Compensation administration, including the documentation of all employee, reporting, management, and carrier communication. Maintaining Paycom and 360 system for new accidents/injuries/review restrictions/limitations for possible accommodations / and track RTW notices. If Workers' Compensation cases become an employee relations concern or legal issue, partner with HR Director to handle the case.
Work in conjunction with Safety & Security Director to manage new injuries/accidents and discuss compliance of safety standards.

Garnishment

Responsible for entire Garnishment process in Paycom. Scan received garnishments into Paycom, file in employee file & occasionally audit & report back to Paycom any issues or errors.

Verification of Employment

Complete & respond to written reference checks and verifications of employment.

Benefits

Support open enrollment by managing reports, employee lists, and meeting logistics.
Train managers and bookkeepers on Paycom modules, including accruals, vacation requests, and insurance deductions.
Provide support for employee inquiries related to payroll, insurance, time off, and more.

Other HR Responsibilities

Responsible for filing and scanning all paperwork associated with assigned processes into Paycom (if applicable) & correct Docuware files.
Assists in the development and documentation of processes and procedures within HR (SOPs, Job Descriptions, Corrective Actions, etc.). Will assist in the communication and implementation of Operational processes and procedures when requested.
Assists in the development and documentation of processes and procedures within HR and Operations.
Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals.
Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and services provided.
Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs and policies.
Participate in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars.
Reset Paycom passwords and security questions in person and remotely.
Assist walk-in employees with applications, payroll updates, and other HR services.
Generate and manage Paycom reports, onboarding documents, and data imports.

Experience

Proven 5 years experience in an HR Generalist role with a strong understanding of human resources management principles. Preferable in the Hospitality and/or Food & Beverage industry.
Demonstrated expertise in recruiting, benefits, workers compensation management and FMLA/ADA management.
Familiarity with HR systems such as Paycom and DocuWare; proficiency in Excel data analysis is highly valued.
Knowledge of employment & labor law, FMLA regulations, workers' compensation procedures, and HR legal compliance standards.
Experience managing benefits administration processes.
Strong written and verbal skills (English & Spanish)with the ability to handle confidential information discreetly while collaborating across teams.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously through effective project management skills and strategic planning abilities.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
