Assistant Project Manager – FLORIDA based.
Contractor has built a reputation as one of New York and Florida’s premier Pile, SOE, Excavation, Foundation and Superstructure contractors throughout all five Boroughs & Long Island and Southern Florida. Contractor has a broad portfolio of successfully completed projects with clientele including private general contractors, developers, and private residence owners across a range of sectors, including commercial, luxury residential, municipal and public works.
The ideal candidate possesses excellent organizational skills, basic knowledge of construction practices, documentation, quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, and 1-2 years of high-end construction project management experience and a willingness to learn.
The Assistant PM supports the Project PM in the coordination, supervision, and execution of concrete construction projects. This role assists in overseeing field crews, tracking progress, maintaining safety and quality standards, and ensuring that project deadlines and specifications are met. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working in a fast-paced construction environment.
Primary Responsibilities
· Contributes to managing daily construction work activities and works alongside field workforce as assigned.
· Ability to quickly learn and assist in; vertical installations and removal, framing and decking operations, pouring of vertical concrete, distinguishing between different types of material and equipment.
· Manages the project team in establishing the sequential steps involved in all processes with the scope of the project, and adapts schedules and work tasks accordingly.
· Assists in managing the development and coordination of material and equipment schedules and promotes their efficient use.
· Performs special projects and completes all other duties as assigned or requested for the general support of the organization.
Minimum Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or related engineering degree.
· One to two years of work experience successfully supporting similar key responsibilities meeting and exceeding performance expectations or successful completion of Ceco Trainee Program.
· Proficient written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills to effectively work with all levels of the organization.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project and Outlook). Knowledgeable of safety and relevant OSHA requirements and regulations.
- Ensure that all project team members are informed of needed information, policies, and expectations regarding safety and related regulations.
- Prepare and submit change orders for approval.
- Provide timely and accurate information to the project accountant to ensure proper billing preparation.
- Review subcontractor and vendor invoices throughout the lifecycle of the project and monitor requests for payment while negotiating appropriate changes with subcontractors and suppliers as necessary.
- Manage worker schedules and performance to report to management.
- Provide regular project and schedule updates.
- Create and manage the timely completion of punch lists.
Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
