Premier Playlab is the first major launch under the Premier Collective brand. It is a premium sports and movement-based child development program for children ages 18 months to 5 years.
The Opportunity
This is much more than a teaching position. As the Sports Program Director of Premier Playlab, you will act as an instructor working directly with the founders to launch a new brand, shape the curriculum, deliver classes, build relationships with families, oversee daily operations, and help establish the culture of what we believe will become one of South Florida's premier children's movement programs. As the program grows, this role is expected to evolve into a full-time leadership position.
Job Summary
The Sports Program Director will oversee the development and operation of the Premier Playlab program, which focuses on early childhood sports, movement instruction, active play, and physical development for children ages 18 months to 5 years. This role involves designing engaging, age-appropriate curricula that promote motor skills, confidence, and enjoyment through active play. The director will lead classes by demonstrating movements and encouraging active participation, while managing daily operations such as registration, safety protocols, and staff training. Building strong relationships with families and ensuring a safe, fun environment are key priorities. The ideal candidate has experience working with young children in early childhood settings and a passion for movement-based development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the launch and daily operation of Premier Playlab, focusing on active movement programs for young children.
- Teach classes emphasizing physical activity, motor skills development, and early childhood movement.
- Manage registration systems and attendance tracking.
- Follow up with families to foster engagement and convert trial classes into memberships.
- Develop and organize age-appropriate curriculum, lesson plans, and activity materials.
- Demonstrate movements during classes to encourage active participation.
- Create a positive, safe environment that promotes children’s physical development and enjoyment.
- Support marketing efforts for camps, birthday parties, and community events.
- Recruit, train, and mentor future instructors as the program expands.
- Oversee classroom setup, equipment management, and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with the team to continually improve program quality, and support other administrative duties for Premier Collective as needed.
Qualifications:
- Experience working directly with children ages 18 months to 5 years in early childhood education, child development settings, and/or sports related activities.
- Degree or experience in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Recreation, Physical Education or related field (ideal).
- Passion for sports, movement activities, and promoting physical development in young children.
- Strong communication skills in English and Spanish.
- Organized, energetic, proactive, with an entrepreneurial mindset.
- CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
- Ability to demonstrate movements actively during classes.
- Physical ability to lift up to 20 pounds and set up classroom equipment.
- Prior experience or interest in developing movement-based programs for early childhood.
Weekly Schedule
Administrative Hours / Fixed (20 hours) - hours might be adjusted based on final classes' schedules
- Monday: 12:00 PM –3:00 PM / 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM
- Tuesday: 12:00 PM–4:00 PM
- Wednesday: 12:00 PM –3:00 PM / 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM
- Thursday: 12:00 PM–4:00 PM
- Friday: 12:00 PM–4:00 PM
Initial Teaching Schedule
- Monday: up to 5 classes (9:00 AM - 9:30 AM / 3:00 PM –5:45 PM)
- Wednesday: up to 5 classes (9:00 AM - 9:45 AM / 3:00 PM –5:45 PM)
- Saturday: up to 4 classes (9:00 AM –11:00 AM)
Maximum class size: approximately 8 children.
Physical Requirements
· Ability to remain in constant movement while leading active classes for young children.
· Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and demonstrate physical activities throughout the workday.
· Ability to lift, carry, and move classroom and sports equipment weighing up to 20 pounds.
· Ability to set up and reset classrooms before and after classes.
Compensation
We have created a compensation structure that rewards both operational excellence and the successful growth of Premier Playlab. The model recognizes the Sports Program Director's responsibility for delivering an exceptional customer experience while also incentivizing enrollment growth and the expansion of the program:
Fixed Compensation
· $20/hour for administrative responsibilities (~18-20 administrative hours per week).
Variable Compensation
· $25 per class taught (up to 14 classes per week during the launch phase)
