JOB TITLE: Production Leadman and Tool Room MachinistReports To: Director of Operations
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
GENERAL INFORMATION:
Located in sunny Southern Florida, Hialeah Metal Spinning is a metal forming company specializing in deep drawing and metal spinning since 1957. We are a custom manufacturer forming unique parts for our customers on a job shop basis.
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Operate tool room equipment: engine lathes, mills, surface grinder, etc. as needed to make tooling, parts and assist with equipment repairs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The work assignments may vary from day-to-day including but not limited to;
- Proficient produce high quality tooling – updating existing tooling and produce new tooling.
- Understand and maintain current tooling inventory.
- Train with primary trainers on key process equipment and update set-up sheets for future production runs.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with the management of scheduling production and tasks for the manufacturing associates.
- Schedule and maintain records of cross-training activities on the production floor and tool room.
- Assist with manufacturing associates’ reviews and promotions
QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and/or Experience:
On the job experience for a minimum of 5 years in a leadership machinist position.
High school diploma or equivalent at a minimum.
Completion of formal apprenticeship program or technical school is desirable.
CNC machining training is a bonus.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and write in English. Ability to understand spoken English. Ability to verbally communicate in English.
Spanish knowledge is a plus.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to count and write numerical results.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to follow directions.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
None required but it will be a plus. Forklift operator experience.
U.S Person:
Must be a U.S. Person: U.S. citizen or Green Card holder.
Computer Skills:
Basic data entry.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is typically in a non-air-conditioned warehouse. Candidate may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical equipment; and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
This is a family business where everybody is treated with respect. Although most tasks are done independently, we have scenarios/ projects where associates work closely together. Candidates must be able to work alongside others in a respectful manner.

Pay: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour
