Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in accounting principles and practices, with expertise in various accounting standards including GAAP, IFRS, and SOX compliance. This role is crucial in ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting and the integrity of financial data across the organization. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing financial operations, preparing reports, and providing insights that support strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities

Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP and IFRS standards.
Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure timely and accurate transactions.
Perform balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger accounting to maintain accurate financial records.
Conduct regulatory reporting and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Manage cash flow through effective cash management practices.
Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support organizational goals.
Provide technical accounting guidance on complex transactions and ensure adherence to SOX compliance.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance financial management practices.
Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero for efficient financial reporting and analysis.
Lead payroll processing and ensure accuracy in employee compensation records.

Skills

Strong knowledge of accounting principles including double entry bookkeeping and financial concepts.
Proficiency in financial report writing and account reconciliation.
Experience in non-profit or governmental accounting is a plus.
Familiarity with public accounting practices is desirable.
Excellent analytical skills with a focus on financial analysis and account analysis.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate reporting.
Ability to work effectively under pressure while managing multiple deadlines.
Proficient in using advanced features of accounting software for enhanced productivity.
