Full Job Description

Paralegal

Position Summary

We're looking for a motivated, organized paralegal who is committed to helping clients navigate difficult circumstances with compassion and professionalism. In this role, you'll support our attorneys throughout the litigation process, helping cases move efficiently from filing through resolution. You'll manage case files, coordinate deadlines, prepare legal documents, and serve as a primary point of contact for clients, ensuring they remain informed and supported every step of the way.

The ideal candidate takes ownership of their work, communicates confidently, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and manages competing priorities with exceptional attention to detail. Success in this role requires strong organizational skills, sound judgment, and a genuine commitment to making a meaningful impact on our clients' lives.

Essential Responsibilities

Case Management

Manage an assigned litigation caseload under attorney supervision.
Maintain accurate, organized, and up-to-date case files in the firm's case management system (Filevine).
Monitor case progress and proactively identify upcoming deadlines and action items.
Coordinate with attorneys, medical providers, opposing counsel, experts, and court personnel as needed.

Litigation Support

Draft pleadings, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, notices, correspondence, and other litigation documents.
Prepare and organize exhibits, medical records, evidence, and other case materials.
Coordinate document production, discovery responses, and case filings.

Client Communication

Serve as a primary point of contact for clients throughout the litigation process.
Provide regular case updates while responding to client questions with professionalism, empathy, and clear communication.
Help clients understand the litigation process and gather information needed to advance their cases.

Deadline & File Management

Track court deadlines, discovery deadlines, scheduling orders, mediation dates, hearings, and statutes of limitation.
Ensure all case files remain accurate, organized, and compliant with firm procedures.
Maintain calendars and assist attorneys in meeting litigation deadlines.

Qualifications

Associate's degree preferred; Paralegal Certificate or equivalent experience is a plus.
Two or more years of paralegal experience preferred, with personal injury experience strongly preferred.
Familiarity with Florida court procedures, civil litigation, and discovery practices.
Experience with Filevine or other case management software is preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
