Full Job Description

**Sign on Bonus after 120 days**

Northport Highlands is a 41 unit senior living community that includes Assisted Living and Memory Care.

We are looking for a full time skilled Cook to prepare delicious and nutritional meals according to menus for all residents in the facility. You may be asked to prepare special meals for facility events and parties.

The best candidate would possess patience, empathy, strong interpersonal skills and must know how to get along on an interdisciplinary healthcare team.

Must be able to follow instructions in cooking and delivering well-prepared meals that our residents would enjoy.

Experience in using various ingredients and cooking techniques is important.

Cook and set up breakfast, lunch and dinner. Hours are flexible-Monday-Friday with rotating weekends. Hours are 7:30am-6:00pm. 32 hours a week.

Comply with policies and procedures of Northport Highlands; as well as, state and local rules, and guidelines for proper food storage, handling and preparation.

Expected to make sure that the kitchen and workstation are clean at all times.

Understands safe handling procedures for equipment and food; and promotes good hygiene practice.

Works with the Food Service Director and staff in ensuring that all resident’s needs are taken care of and that the kitchen is equipped to handle demand.

Helps staff become familiar with the menu and specialty items so that items can be described to residents, i.e.. ingredients, cooking methods, etc.

Keeps all equipment cleaned and well maintained. Communicates to Food Service Director any faulty appliances, damaged furniture, equipment or any potential hazard. Keeps kitchen clean and ready for next meal service.

Ensures resident satisfaction at all times and works to correct any issues in a timely manner. Visits with residents whenever able.

Assists rest of care and dining services team as necessary. Before leaving at the end of each shift, make sure there are no other activities that need dietary assistance. Ensure dining room is clean, neat and orderly as soon as possible after each meal.

Fulfills other duties as assigned.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
