J0B DESCRIPTION

ASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGER

SUMMARY

The Assistant General Manager is responsible for managing daily operations of Moose Jaw Junction, including: development and performance management of employees. Oversee the inventory and food ordering/supplies when needed, optimize profits and ensure that guest are satisfied with their dining experience. The Assistant General Manager reports to the General Manager.

General

Oversee and manage on matters regarding guest service

Upholding Moose Jaw Junction standards and service levels to increase sales and minimize cost including food, beverage, supply, utility and labor cost.

Assisting with financial (invoices, reporting) and personnel/payroll related administrative duties are completed accurately, on time with Moose Jaw policies and procedures.

Food safety and planning

Enforce sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance of kitchen and dining areas. Ensure compliance with operational standards, policies, federal/state/local laws and ordinances.

Assist General Manager/ Kitchen manager to ensure consistent high quality of food preparation and service

Maintain professional image of Moose Jaw Junction, including restaurant cleanliness, proper uniforms and appearance standard.

Work with General Manager/Kitchen manager for efficient provisioning and purchasing of supplies when needed. Supervise portion control and quantities of preparation to minimize waste.

Servsafe certified, uphold all Servsafe guidelines

Guest service

Ensure positive guest service in all areas. Respond to complaints, taking any and all appropriate actions to turn dissatisfied guests into return guest.

Operational responsibilities

Proper security procedures are in place to protect employees, guests and MJJ assets.

Ensure a safe working and guest environment to reduce the risk of injury and accidents. Completes accident reports promptly in the event that a guest or employee are injured.

Manage shifts which includes, daily decision making, planning while upholding MJJ standards, product quality and cleanliness.

Personnel

Provide direction to employee regarding operational and procedural issues.

Conduct orientation, explain MJJ standards and oversee the training of new employees.

Develop employees by providing ongoing feedback, establishing performance expectations and by conducting performance reviews.

Maintain an accurate and up-to-date plan of restaurant staffing needs.

Personal Requirements

Self-discipline, leadership ability and outgoing.

Pleasant, polite manner and neat and clean appearance.

Ability to motivate employees to work as a team to ensure that food and service meet MJJ standards.

Must be able to handle the pressures of multi-tasking a large range of activities and coming up with appropriate solution to restaurant problems.

Must have good communication skills for dealing with diverse staff.

Ability to do multiple tasks such as food, beverage and labor cost while maintaining MJJ standards of operation in daily restaurant activities.

Accountabilities

Keep General Manager promptly and fully informed of all issues (problems, unusual matters of significance and positive events). If you see something, say something.

Completes job responsibilities and performance in a timely and effective manner and in accordance , respectful with MJJ standards and procedures.

Maintain a favorable working relationship with all employees to help and promote a cooperative and good working climate which will be contributing to FOH and BOH maximum employee morale, productivity, and efficiency/effectiveness.

Performs other duties and responsibilities are required or requested.

Working Conditions

Hours may vary if manager must full in for his/her employees or if emergencies arise

Position requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping, twisting, lifting products and supplies and repetitive hand and wrist motion.

Work with hot, cold and hazardous equipment and as well as operates computers, other office equipment.

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
