The Lead Print Press and Bindery Operator is responsible for producing print and digital products according to specifications and quality standards while acting as the shift lead in production.

Leads and directs shift personnel, assigning tasks and monitoring performance to ensure efficient workflow and quality standards are met.

Personal and regular interaction with operators on production requirements.

Communicate production schedules, project status updates and project specifications with team members.

Assures all work areas are properly staffed and used in an efficient manner.

Documents all activities that occur on the shift such as job progression, operational problems or personnel issues.

Provide daily updates to the production supervisor on job status of all work in progress.

Operation of equipment for printing, finishing and shipping within production standards according to quality, rate of speed and waste.

Understand and follow instructions and specifications communicated on the job ticket.

Complete quality control procedures on each project.

Maintain equipment according to company guidelines.

Complete training hazardous communications, forklift operations, lockout/tagout and company safety program. Safety regulations must be abided by at all times.

Communicate ideas, concerns and problems to leadership.

Assists in resolving mechanical problems.

Acts as a proactive initiator of change for improved production methods.

Other physical requirements: standing for long periods of time, up to 10 hours
