Schagrin Home Comfort Products is a 4th generation family-owned local business specializing in propane delivery and the installation and service of gas appliances including HVAC equipment, standby generators, gas logs and fireplaces, and other comfort and convenience products.
Objective
The Fleet Manager position combines advanced diesel diagnostic expertise with strong leadership, operational planning, and regulatory compliance skills. The role requires technical proficiency in maintaining medium- and heavy-duty commercial fleets while effectively managing personnel, budgets, vendors, and fleet assets.
The Right Candidate
1. Certifications & Licensing:
· Commercial Driver's License (CDL): Valid Class A or Class B CDL required.
2. Technical Knowledge & Skills
· Preventive and predictive maintenance program management required.
· Knowledge of fleet reliability practices is required.
· Proficiency with OEM diagnostic platforms (Cummins INSITE, PACCAR) preferred.
· Experience with multi-brand diagnostic tools such as JPRO and Snap-on platforms preferred.
3. Fleet Operations & Compliance
· Strong understanding of DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and applicable state transportation regulations.
· Experience managing vehicle inspections, maintenance records, and compliance documentation.
· Familiarity with telematics, GPS tracking, and fleet management systems such as Samsara and JJ Keller Encompass
· Ability to develop maintenance schedules that maximize fleet uptime and operational efficiency.
4. Other
· Experience with propane, other heating fuels, and/or HazMat vehicles/industry.
· Diesel Technology and/or Heavy Equipment Mechanics experience.
Minimum Requirements
- 2+ years of supervisory or fleet management experience.
- 5+ years of diesel fleet maintenance experience.
- Experience managing medium- and heavy-duty truck fleets in a transportation, logistics, propane, fuel delivery, construction, or similar industry.
- Proven history of team leadership, mentoring, and technician development.
- Knowledge of budget preparation and cost-control strategies.
- Familiar with parts inventory management and procurement oversight.
- Successful vendor and service provider negotiation skills.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage time efficiently and work independently.
- Proactive and extremely well organized.
- Must have a valid driver’s license in good standing and clean driving record.
- Must comply with Schagrin Home Comfort Products drug and alcohol testing policy.
Schedule Requirements
- This position is full-time, Monday through Friday from 7:00am-4:00pm.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
