Full Job Description

Summary:

Under general direction and supervision, Receptionist will perform client customer service and clerical duties in support of hospital staff and functions. Receptionist will be responsible for scheduling appointments, initiating and answering telephone calls, directing calls to appropriate hospital personnel, receiving and distributing mail, entering data into computer databases, requesting needed supplies, as well as other clerical and administrative duties.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Position requires a high school degree, or equivalent, and 6-12 months of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred. Strong verbal and written skills are required to communicate effectively with hospital personnel, clients, vendors and visitors. Receptionist should possess good organizational skills to work independently on various assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Receives and screens incoming phone calls; provides requested information and support or forwards to appropriate individual for further action.
Receives and greets clients, vendors, and visitors entering the hospital; performs needed check-in activities to capture required information and data.
May assist in performing various clerical duties in support of hospital and staff; may be responsible for ordering, receiving, stocking and distributing office supplies.
Ensures the reception area, examination rooms and hospital premises are maintained in a clean and organized fashion.
Receives sorts and forwards incoming mail to appropriate individual; ensures outgoing mail is properly addressed, labeled, secured, and equipped with adequate postage.
May perform various routine recordkeeping functions, including creating client invoices, receiving payments and generating receipts; may provide estimates for services based on established pricing criteria and detailed information from doctor or technician.
May be responsible for contacting clients after surgeries and procedures to follow up on patient status and provide answers to routine inquiries; if necessary, schedules doctor or technician for follow up call.
Creates, produces and distributes reminders to clients for periodic and routine wellness and preventative services; schedules and/or confirms appointments, as needed.
Performs other duties as required or requested.

Physical Demands:

May be required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl for extended periods of time. Frequently required to lift and/or move patients weighing up to 50 pounds; occasionally required to lift and/or move patients weighing up to 75 pounds.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8 – 40 per week
