Assistant Swim Coach
Location: Lakota Family YMCA, 6703 Yankee Road, Liberty Township, OH 45044
Job Type: Part-Time
Reports to: Head Coach

The Lakota Family YMCA is seeking a motivated, energetic, and team-oriented Assistant Swim Coach to help foster a love for swimming while guiding youth athletes in a fun, supportive, and competitive environment. This is a great opportunity to grow professionally while making a positive impact on swimmers' development and confidence.

What You’ll Do

Lead engaging and developmentally appropriate practices for age-group swimmers.
Develop structured daily workouts and a season training plan.
Provide swimmers with individual feedback on technique, training, and race strategies.
Represent the team at swim meets, team events, and coaching meetings.
Foster a safe, inclusive team culture that upholds YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
Communicate effectively with parents, swimmers, and staff regarding performance and schedules.
Adhere to and model all YMCA safety and conduct standards.
Serve as a mentor and positive role model for all athletes.

What You Bring

Minimum age: 18 years
Must pass a YMCA-required background check
Able to obtain or currently holds YMCA Swim Coach Certification
Willingness and ability to obtain and maintain:
- Lifeguard Certification
- CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer
- First Aid Certification (training may be provided)
Previous competitive swimming or coaching experience preferred
Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
Passion for working with youth and fostering growth in a team setting
