The Middletown Public Library is seeking a part-time (25 hours per week) Administrative Operations Coordinator to join our team.
This position will play a key role in the library's daily administrative and financial operations. The Administrative Operations Coordinator will help manage payroll and scheduling systems, coordinate room reservations and public use of library spaces, assist with budget tracking and invoices, and serve as a central point of contact for administrative communications and operational workflows.
As the library prepares to move into its new building and expand services to the community, this position will also play an important role in supporting that transition and helping ensure the library's operations continue to run smoothly.

QUALIFICATIONS: Associate’s degree or equivalent required, Bachelor’s degree preferred; coursework or background in business, accounting, finance, or administrative operations preferred, or any equivalent combination of education, training, certification, and experience. Experience in administrative support, payroll, finance, municipal operations, or library/public sector environments preferred.
The schedule is 25 hours per week, typically scheduled during daytime administrative hours Monday through Friday, with occasional flexibility required to meet payroll deadlines, scheduling cycles, and operational needs.
SALARY: In accordance with the negotiated pay scale, starts at $27 an hour. This is a part-time position within the Middletown Public Library Employees Association / NEARI Union and includes paid holidays, vacation time, sick time, and the opportunity to buy into the municipal medical plan at full cost to the employee.
