Full Job Description

Consulting civil engineering firm located in central Connecticut a has a position available for an experienced bookkeeper.

Job Overview

Cardinal Engineering Associates, Inc. a Consulting Engineering firm located in Meriden, CT. is seeking an enthusiastic and efficient full-cycle Bookkeeper.

This position will require you to manage numerous day-to-day activities which include but are not limited to the following: managing accounts payable and receivables (including invoicing), track office expenses, process payroll, submit state and federal taxes, prepare and submit quarterly reports to DRS and IRS, prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements

In addition to this, you should have excellent multitasking skills and the ability to prioritize and assign tasks. Having strong communication and negotiation skills will prove to be an advantage. Excel, MS Office, ADP, Bill Quick and QuickBooks proficiency is a must.

Responsibilities

Tracking and reporting hours to payroll

Manage accounts payables, receivables, and payroll

Banking functions including bank reconciliations for various accounts including operating, pay roll, escrow.

Manage and comply with local, state and federal government reporting requirements and tax filing.

Maintaining and updating contact details of employees, clients and vendors
Regularly updating our software systems, Quickbooks, BillQuick
Reviewing and ordering office supplies
Sending, tracking, and managing new and existing contracts

Analyzing and processing bill payments and invoices.
Developing, updating, and implementing office procedures and protocols

Regularly update and disseminate the company’s policies and procedures as established in the employee handbook.

Taking photocopies and printouts of important documents
Assisting in setting up repairs/maintenance appointments for company equipment

Qualifications

5 years minimum experience as a Bookkeeper

Associates Degree in Accounting or Business Administration

Quickbooks Certification
Solid understanding of accounting and bookkeeping principles

Experience with A/P, A/R, Invoicing, Preparation of Balance Sheets and P/L statements

Experience with Quarterly and Annual Tax Filings
Proficiency in Quickbooks, BillQuick, ADP, Excel, Word and related software
Excellent time management and organizational skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Detail-oriented and highly reliable individual
Strong client service skills

Engineering or Architectural firm experience preferred
