McWeeney Aquatic Consulting, LTP, LLC, is looking to hire an experienced American Red Cross Lifeguarding Instructor to provide high-quality lifeguarding training services across Connecticut for facilities, towns, cities, and municipalities that currently contract with McWeeney Aquatic Consulting, LTP, LLC.
This is a seasonal and part time subcontractor position. No medical, health, dental, and retirement benefits are provided because this is a subcontractor position.
As the lifeguarding instructor for McWeeney Aquatic Consulting, LTP, LLC, you will certify lifeguards (pre-service and in-service) by teaching the r.24 American Red Cross training and standards, including CPR, AED, and first aid. This position requires competent communication skills, competent knowledge of American Red Cross lifeguarding, first aid, CPR and AED content, competent knowledge of American Red Cross training protocols, as well as a commitment to continuing McWeeney Aquatic Consulting, LTP, LLC's educational environment that is: safe, inclusive, and intellectually stimulating.
Additionally, for this position you will also be expected to teach the "add-on" courses including but not limited to: shallow water, waterpark, waterfront, and aquatic attraction lifeguarding. If certification in these areas is needed to teach these areas, such certification will be paid for.
What is required for this job?
- Plan, prepare, and execute all American Red Cross aquatic training (lifeguarding) courses in accordance with the r.24 American Red Cross course standards
- Notify McWeeney Aquatic Consulting, LTP, LLC, at any time of any equipment as well as instructional materials that need to be in proper working order
- Provide students and clients with specific, constructive feedback to coach them in successfully achieving the objectives and training standards for the course(s) you are teaching
- Monitor student and client progress, evaluate skills, and administer American Red Cross certification exams for the course(s) you are teaching
- Maintain accurate records of students and clients
- Create a positive and supportive learning environment that allows each student and client to feel both comfortable and confident in learning skills and content
- Communicate professionally with students and clients
- Complete and submit all documentation timely

What are the legal requirements for this job?
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must hold a valid American Red Cross lifeguarding instructor certification
- Must hold a valid American Red Cross lifeguarding, first aid, CPR and AED certification
- Must have at least 3 years of lifeguarding experience (of any kind) working under an American Red Cross lifeguarding, first aid, CPR and AED certification
- Must have any valid photo identification
What are the travel requirements for this job?
- Must have reliable vehicle insurance
- Must have a reliable and working vehicle
- Travel outside of Connecticut with occasional overnight stays during the spring and summer months may be required (this will be contingent on contracts)
- If overnight stays are required, McWeeney Aquatic Consulting, LTP, LLC, will pay for all overnight stays
- Food and drink will not be reimbursed or paid for
- Mileage will not be reimbursed or paid for

As the instructor, you will choose your days and times that you will conduct all classes.
What is the location for this job?
McWeeney Aquatic Consulting, LTP, LLC, serves clients in Connecticut as well as in New England. This job requires the instructor to travel to locations identified in contracts.
COMPENSATION:
- $50 per person registered (a maximum of 10 people in each class = $500 per class)
- Overnight stays are paid for by McWeeney Aquatic Consulting, LTP, LLC
- Each payment will be given in cash or through Venmo
