The role
Caesar Engineering is a lean civil and structural firm serving municipal agencies, private developers, and institutional clients from the Greater NYC area to the Capital Region. We're bringing on an EIT to contribute to real project work across civil site design, stormwater, permitting, and construction observation — from day one. This isn't a drafting seat. You'll have direct access to both principals and a clear path toward your PE.
Our work spans two modes: production and advisory. On the production side, you're preparing drawings, calculations, and permit packages. On the advisory side, you're supporting municipal board presentations, feasibility assessments, and master planning efforts for government and private clients. The best candidates will be comfortable moving between both.
Our design work happens remotely. Our field work happens in person. This role involves regular site visits, field investigations, and municipal board appearances within the NYC–Albany corridor — a personal vehicle and comfort with fieldwork are required. The rest of your time is yours to manage from wherever you work best.
What you'll own
Civil design & production
- Prepare civil engineering plans and reports for site development, land use, and infrastructure projects.
- Perform infrastructure planning, building optimization, grading and drainage design, including stormwater management calculations and compliance with local and state regulations
- Produce civil engineering drawings and exhibit documents including 3D site visualizations and concept models using AutoCAD Civil 3D and Trimble SketchUp
- Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations, specifications, and written reports under PE supervision
- Contribute to quality control reviews of drawings and reports prior to submission
Permitting, consulting & planning support
- Prepare permit applications and submissions for municipal, county, and state agencies
- Participate in municipal planning board proceedings — prepare presentation materials and attend board meetings to support project approvals
- Support building feasibility studies and capital planning assessments for municipal and private-sector clients, contributing engineering analysis and written documentation
- Assist in master planning engagements, including building programming support, site analysis, and preparation of planning report sections for government and institutional clients
- Help prepare climate resilience and infrastructure planning documentation, including flood vulnerability analysis and long-range facility planning inputs
- Coordinate with surveyors, subconsultants, and public agencies as directed by project leads
