Job Description/Role/Responsibilities

Label Room Lead

1.0 Job Duties and Responsibilities

· Will work directly under the supervision of the Director of Operations

· PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) will be issued as needed and must always be worn.

· Ensure that all SQF (Safe Quality Food), HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point), Food Safety, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), Food Quality and Employee Safety rules and programs are followed.

Essential Functions:

· This position is responsible for the management of the Plant’s labels, labeling systems, printers, and the Supervision of the label room employees

o Responsible for the maintenance and preventative maintenance of the labeling and printing equipment.

o Training and development of employees including monthly alchemy training.

o Manage time and attendance of employees in the Kronos system.

o Responsible for disciplinary action, hiring, and termination of label room employees.

o Management of label inventories and accuracy

o Development of label room processes and Kip Trak systems for labels with QA

o To be inspection and production ready, 7 days a week.

Key Performance Indicators:

· Label Shrink/Yield

· Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and People

· Food Safety at all levels

· On time production startups and zero downtime waiting on labels

2.0 Education/Experience

· Bachelor’s degree in Administration or Management or equivalent experience

· In addition, one to two years knowledge of food industry preferred.

· IT, Printing, and Labeling systems experience preferred

· Experience in managing Employee schedules and management systems preferred

· Food Safety experience and continued training

3.0 Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

· Language Skills - Bi-lingual preferred, but not required.

· Mathematical Skills - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

· Detail oriented and organized

· Must be accurate, detail- oriented and maintain the utmost confidentiality.

· Ability to work independently and work in a timely manner with multiple projects.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Sound delegation skills accompanied with effective ability for follow-up.

· Proficient with windows-based software.

· Excellent communication skills (verbal and written); ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization.

4.0 Physical Requirements

· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen, stand, walk and sit.

· Office in the Label room inside of Low care Production area

· Must be able to pass all pre-employment screens (including drug, background, and criminal checks).

5.0 Equipment/Software Used

· Microsoft, Word, Excel, and Outlook a plus.

· Axapta

· Kronos Time keeping software

· Labeling/Printing systems knowledge: training may be needed.

6.0 Work Environment

· Full time position

· Must be willing to work in refrigerated warehouse environment – Cold/Wet 38°F.

· Must be able to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends as scheduled or needed.

· Must be willing to work any shift. As a manager, it is often a common practice to rotate schedule temporarily to observe team members on 2nd and 3rd shift.

· Must be able to be on your feet for extended periods of time.

· Must work in a professional and courteous manor with subordinates and peers.

· Open to work in a diverse work environment

· On call duty is required
