NOW HIRING — Dance Instructor (Children Ages 3+)
Carrington Dance Company is seeking an energetic, professional, and passionate dance instructor to join our growing team serving the Southside Virginia and greater Richmond area at our studio at 114 East Carolina Avenue, Crewe, VA 23930.
We are looking for someone who loves working with children and can create a positive, structured, and inspiring classroom environment for dancers ages 3 and up.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement dynamic dance curricula suited for various age groups, focusing on styles such as ballet, tap, jazz, and hip-hop.
- Lead engaging, energetic dance classes that promote physical activity, coordination, and artistic expression.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to ensure a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all students.
- Tailor lesson plans to accommodate different learning styles and developmental stages, including early childhood education and preschool experience.
- Provide constructive feedback to students to support their progress and boost confidence.
Qualifications
- Dance teaching and/or performance experience
- Strong classroom management skills
- Dependable and professional
- Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
- Comfortable teaching young children and beginner/intermediate dancers
- Evening and weekend availability preferred
Preferred experience in:
- Ballet
- Tap
- Jazz
- Acro
- Hip Hop
- Creative Movement
- Preschool Dance Education
Competitive pay based on experience. Opportunities for choreography, private lessons, camps, master classes, and future growth within the company may also be available.
