Full Job Description

Job Summary
The Sous Chef plays a crucial role in the delivery of exceptional quality meal service provided to the residents at 1019 Belle's Place of Kenwood. We thoughtfully provide for our residents' nutritional needs, but believe quality and presentation is equally important. The role uses proven culinary skills to prepare food within food budgets, planning, ordering and maintaining the highest levels of food service safety. The Sous Chef identifies priorities for each shift focusing on food preparation, quality, cleanliness, sanitation, and running a smooth shift.

Duties

Works all stations during peak times and to maintain service and quality standards.
Monitors operations to ensure standards are executed and maintained.
Ensures sanitation procedures are in place and the kitchen is clean and organized at all times.
Delegates or performs opening and closing duties, cleaning duties, and maintenance duties to ensure all closing tasks are accounted for to prepare for the next day’s operations.
Inspects, counts, and performs inventory levels of walk-ins, freezers, prep areas, coolers, and dry storage. Maintain logs and records.
Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding food safety and sanitation practices.
Collaborates with Department Director and healthcare professionals to integrate dietary care into overall resident health plans.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with residents, families, and staff members effectively.

Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent; Certificate in Culinary Arts or similar preferred; relevant experience will be given consideration

Experience: One year of prior culinary supervisory experience is preferred; 3+ years full-service food preparation
