Full Job Description

Assistant Title Examiner

Are you curious about real estate and eager to build a career in the title industry? At Clear Skies Title Agency, we're looking for a motivated, detail-oriented Title Examiner Assistant who is excited to learn. No prior title examination experience is required—we're looking for someone with a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and an eye for detail.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys research, solving puzzles, and working behind the scenes to help people buy and sell homes. You'll receive hands-on training from experienced Title Examiners and learn the foundations of real estate title, property ownership, and the closing process.

What You'll Learn

As a Title Examiner Assistant, you'll be trained to:

Understand property ownership and the chain of title.
Read and interpret deeds, mortgages, liens, judgments, easements, and other legal documents.
Identify title issues that could affect a real estate transaction.
Prepare title commitments and supporting documentation.
Research public records and county documents.
Work with attorneys, lenders, municipalities, and other professionals involved in real estate transactions.

What You'll Do

Assist Title Examiners with reviewing title searches and legal documents.
Update and maintain files in our system.
Verify the accuracy and completeness of property information.
Order and track secondary searches when needed.
Help summarize title findings and identify outstanding title requirements.
Organize documents and maintain accurate electronic files.
Communicate professionally with team members and outside parties.
Learn company procedures while meeting quality and turnaround expectations.

We're looking for someone who is eager to learn, enjoys solving problems, and takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality work. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications:

Customer service-oriented with a friendly, professional demeanor.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including confidence communicating by phone and email.
Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong analytical and logic-based problem-solving skills with a willingness to research and learn.
Ability to read and interpret documents while learning legal and real estate terminology.
Capable of managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable learning new software and systems.
Typing speed of at least 40 WPM.

Growth Opportunity:

The growth opportunities within the company are as follows: (1) First 90 days, become familiar with the title insurance process; (2) First six months, become proficient in your position to where you require little to no supervision; (3) Within the first nine months to a year, take the initiative to understand the title examination process and become licensed as a Title Producer; (4) One year, be in a position to be promoted to a title examiner.

Benefits include: 14 days PTO per year, 6 paid holidays, 8 paid 1/2 day holidays, Medical Insurance (company pays 50% of employee's premium), and 401K.
