Engineering Services Coordinator
This is not a remote-work position. Daily onsite presence at our Salisbury, Maryland office is required.
Tezla Group is an established Managed Services Provider (MSP) serving businesses throughout the Eastern Shore and Delmarva region. We are currently seeking an organized, professional, and technically comfortable individual to join our team as an Engineering Services Coordinator.
This is a unique support and coordination position designed to work closely with several of Tezla's senior engineers.
Our engineers frequently spend much of their day traveling between client locations, performing installations, troubleshooting problems, managing projects, and working directly with clients. At the same time, a significant volume of email, service requests, follow-up communication, quoting requests, and other information moves through the company throughout the day.
The Engineering Services Coordinator will help manage that flow of information, allowing our engineers to remain focused on engineering work while ensuring that important communications and administrative tasks receive appropriate attention.
This is not a help desk technician or engineering position. The ideal candidate is an exceptionally organized administrative professional who is comfortable working in a technical environment, can understand the general context of IT-related conversations, and has the judgment necessary to determine what information requires attention and what does not.
Primary Responsibilities
A major responsibility of this position will be monitoring incoming communications and helping manage information on behalf of several senior engineers.
Responsibilities will include:
- Monitoring shared company email and communication channels throughout the business day
- Reviewing incoming messages and identifying those relevant to assigned engineers
- Filtering routine or non-actionable communication so engineers are not unnecessarily interrupted
- Identifying important or time-sensitive communications and bringing them to the appropriate person's attention
- Routing service requests and other communications to the appropriate person or department
- Tracking items requiring follow-up and helping ensure they do not become lost in a high-volume communication environment
- Communicating with engineers throughout the day regarding important messages, requests, scheduling issues, and outstanding items
- Assisting engineers with routine correspondence and administrative follow-up
- Helping maintain organization and continuity while engineers are traveling or working onsite with clients
The successful candidate must develop a strong understanding of the engineers they support, their responsibilities, their clients, and the types of issues that require their direct attention.
Quoting and Engineering Support
The Engineering Services Coordinator will also assist senior engineers with routine quoting and purchasing-related tasks.
This may include assignments such as locating a previous client quote, obtaining updated product pricing, recreating or updating a similar quote, preparing information for review, and communicating routine information to clients.
For example, an engineer may ask the coordinator to prepare an updated quote for a laptop similar to one a client recently purchased rather than requiring the engineer to stop engineering work to research pricing and recreate the quote.
Responsibilities may include:
- Locating previous quotes, orders, and related client information
- Obtaining current product and vendor pricing
- Preparing or updating routine client quotes
- Following established company pricing and quoting procedures
- Sending approved routine quotes and correspondence to clients
- Following up on outstanding quotes, orders, or information when requested
- Coordinating with engineers, administrative staff, and vendors as necessary
Technical purchasing or quoting experience is helpful but is not required. Training will be provided on Tezla's internal systems and procedures.
Administrative Support
This position will primarily support Tezla's engineering team but will also provide additional administrative assistance within the office as workload permits.
Additional responsibilities may include:
- Data entry and record maintenance
- Preparing or updating documents
- Assisting with purchasing and order tracking
- Organizing information and electronic records
- Following up with clients or vendors
- Assisting with scheduling and coordination
- Performing other administrative and office duties as assigned
What We Are Looking For
The most important qualifications for this position are organization, communication, judgment, attention to detail, and follow-through.
The ideal candidate should be someone who can receive a large amount of information throughout the day and quickly determine:
What matters? Who needs to know? How quickly do they need to know it? And what can I take care of myself?
Successful candidates should have:
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent reading comprehension and attention to detail
- Good judgment and the ability to recognize urgency and priority
- The ability to manage multiple small tasks without losing track of them

- Professional communication skills when working with clients and vendors
- Comfort working independently and making reasonable day-to-day decisions
- The ability to handle confidential business and client information appropriately
- Strong general computer skills
- The ability and willingness to learn unfamiliar software and technical terminology
Technical Knowledge
This position does not require the candidate to be an IT engineer or technician.
However, the successful candidate will work around technology and technical conversations throughout the day. Candidates should be comfortable using computers and learning enough IT terminology to understand the general subject and importance of communications involving networks, servers, computers, Microsoft 365, Internet connectivity, cybersecurity, vendors, and other business technology.
Previous experience working for an IT company, MSP, technology vendor, telecommunications company, or other technical organization is beneficial but not required.
Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and other Microsoft 365 applications is highly desirable.
