First Commercial Bank (USA) is the wholly owned subsidiary of First Commercial Bank in Taipei, one of the premier commercial banks in Taiwan. First Commercial Bank (USA) has 8 branches in California. We are currently looking for a Business Development Officer for our Silicon Valley and Fremont Branch.
SUMMARY
Under limited supervision, Business Development Officer is responsible for developing new deposit, loan and merchant business for the Bank. The position provides a superior level of customer relations and service and complies with all regulations which apply within the scope of the position, including Bank Secrecy Act., and is responsible for attaining established individual, department and Bank goals through active participation in sales management and officer call programs.
DUTIES
- Participate and implement business development programs for Bank products using various techniques including calls to existing customers to maintain and expand banking relationships, and calls to prospective clients to develop new business; contribute toward Bank’s financial objectives and CRA goals.
- Provide superior customer service by answering inquires and directing customers to the proper department(s) for further bank services; gather marketing related data and report to Branch Manager in assisting the branch to design/revise marketing plans.
- Manage and assist other relationship managers in handling accounts as assigned and assist other bank personnel in loan- and deposit-related matters; provide management with reports or account information as required.
- Actively participate in various civic, social and community affairs to increase the Bank’s visibility and to enhance new business opportunities.
- Accept other duties as deemed necessary by the supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: College degree with business classes is preferred but not mandatory.
Experience: Minimum 2 years of marketing experience with prior sales experience in commercial banking is highly desirable for the Business Development Officer position.
Skills/ Ability: Broad knowledge of Bank products and services is essential. Bilingual English/Chinese is highly desirable. Strong communication skills. Ability to call on customers and present the Bank’s products and services.

You have the right to request correction of inaccurate personal information maintained by us about you. You can exercise this right through a verified consumer request. The response to a request to know will provide all personal information collected and maintained
about you since January 1, 2022, unless doing so proves impossible or would involve disproportionate effort. Please note that we are not required to provide personal information to you more than twice in a 12- month period. We cannot respond to your request or provide you with personal information if we cannot verify your identity or authority to make the request. We will only use personal information provided in a verifiable consumer request to verify the requestor’s identity or authority to make the request.

Once we receive your verifiable consumer request, we will confirm receipt of the request within 10 business days describing our verification process. We will respond to your request within 45 calendar days, if we are able to verify your identity.
If requests from you are manifestly unfounded or excessive in particular because of their repetitive character, we may either charge a reasonable fee or refuse to act on the request, notifying you of our reason for refusing to act. If we determine that the request warrants a fee, we will notify you of the reason for that determination and provide you with a cost estimate before completing your request.
Requests to Know or Delete for Child Under the Age of 13: We do not knowingly collect information of minors under the age of 13.
Using an Authorized Agent to Submit a Request
Only you, a person registered with the California Secretary of State, or a person you authorize to act on your behalf, may make a verifiable consumer request related to your personal information. You may also make a verifiable consumer request on behalf of your minor child. If you use an authorized agent, you may provide a power of attorney executed pursuant to California Probate Code sections 4000 to 4465. If a power of attorney that meets those provisions is not submitted, you will be required to verify your identity directly by submitting a verified consumer request according to the procedures discussed above. If anyone purporting to be an authorized agent for a consumer contacts us, we will require proof that the authorized agent has been authorized to act on the consumer's behalf.
