Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled MIG Welder to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing welding tasks using the MIG (Metal Inert Gas) welding process to fabricate and assemble metal components. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics. The MIG Welder will work in a fast-paced environment, ensuring high-quality welds that meet industry codes and standards.
Duties
- Operate MIG welding equipment to weld metal components according to specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine project requirements.
- Assemble metal parts and structures using various welding techniques.
- Perform pipe threading and rigging as needed for specific projects.
- Utilize power tools safely and effectively during the fabrication process.
- Conduct quality checks on welds to ensure compliance with codes and standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and accurately.
Skills
- Proficient in basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to welding tasks.
- Experience with power tools used in metal fabrication.
- Ability to solder components as required for specific applications.
- Knowledge of industry codes and standards related to welding practices.
- Strong blueprint reading skills for accurate interpretation of project specifications.
- Familiarity with rigging techniques for handling heavy materials safely.
- Experience operating forklifts for material handling (certification preferred).
- Ability to read schematics for understanding complex assembly processes.
- Competence in pipe threading techniques for various piping applications.
