Job Summary:
Participate in one or more phases of the software development life cycle (i.e. requirements/definition/analysis, software design/implementation, software verification/validation) per the policies and procedures of the Control, Software and Technology department. Develop new software and software features, but they will also assist in product direction, requirements, technology selection, and all aspects of software development.
Essential Functions

· Perform one or more software engineering tasks, generally under limited direction and mentoring of upper-level engineers, ensuring adherence to procedures and process requirements. Such activities may include, but are not limited to the following:
o New product development
o High-speed data acquisition
o Control system design
§ Motors AC/DC drives
§ Hydraulic Power
o Create programs for PLCs.
o User Interface design, display gages, and custom graphing
o Communication to VFDs, engines, and other equipment
o High-performance engine testing, data acquisition, and control
o High power engine testing, data acquisition, and control
o Electric motor testing, data acquisition, and control
o Transmission testing, data acquisition, and control
o Enhancements and improvements to the existing products
o Provide technical insight and recommendations on future technology and product development
· Write source or test code in the specified language and design, implement and execute test/troubleshooting procedures for standard software products
· Ensure completion of assigned tasks, projects, or programs according to schedule.
· Complete the necessary documentation for assigned projects, including certification documents.
· Act as a technical resource for product field support of customers, service personnel, and field sales force, assisting in addressing and resolving problems.
· Participate in cross-functional teams to address and resolve manufacturing, design, and quality problems, and ensure the continuous, ongoing improvement of processes and methods.
· Travel, when necessary, to customer sites to assist in problem-solving or other assignments
· Follow all housekeeping procedures and comply with all quality and safety regulations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write software code, reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively communicate with customers and other employees of the organization professionally.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of algebra, calculus, geometry, and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Education and Experience Requirements
· A bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or another related field.
· 3 to 7 three years of related experience; or an associate’s degree and five to nine years of progressively responsible related experience; or a combination of education and experience including:
· Proficient knowledge in software tools, including but not limited to:
o C/C++/C#
o VB6/.net
o LabView
o CodeSYS
· Working with multi GUI toolkits.
· Real-Time system experience a plus.
· Versatile debugging and troubleshooting skills

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office environment. The employee occasionally works in the plant environment. The noise level in the plant environment is usually loud.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
