Castalloy is a division of Norican. Castalloy is one of the leading producers of high alloy castings and has been producing engineered cast components for over 30 years. The molding processes include airset and shell that enable us to produce castings which have excellent dimensional accuracy and superior surface finish.

Castalloy’s diverse customer base and ability to serve our customers’ needs have earned us a dominant position in the high alloy casting and fabrication industry. We offer contract manufacturing to customer design, custom designs for specific applications and a wide range of standard products.

Continued modernization and automation of manufacturing equipment and environmental controls enable us to maintain our leading position in the marketplace.

Part I – Position Purpose

We are seeking a dynamic Industrial Engineer to join our team! This position is responsible for maximizing the utilization of facilities, equipment, material and personnel to improve efficiency of operations. The Industrial Engineer will establish work measurement programs and analyze work samples to develop standards for labor utilization which includes time and motion studies. They will recommend methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing the waste of materials such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing workflow, relocating workstations and equipment.

Part II – Job Functions

Design, develop, and implement efficient manufacturing and operational processes

This includes streamlined quoting responsibilities for new product launches and bidding for new business.

Analyze production data to identify areas for cost reduction, waste elimination, and performance improvement
Develop process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and work instructions
Conduct time studies, workflow analysis, and capacity planning to balance workloads and maximize resource utilization
Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies to optimize performance
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, quality, supply chain, and maintenance to solve problems and implement improvements
Design and manage layout changes, equipment placements, and ergonomically sound workstations
Monitor and evaluate the implementation of process improvements and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
Support capital projects, new product introductions, and technology upgrades

This includes leading the Norican Disa showcase located at Castalloy.

Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and ROI analyses for management review

Part III – Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or metallurgical science preferred
2 years of experience related in foundry preferred; prior experience working with steel, white iron, and/or white ductile iron is desired
Experience with CAD, SolidWorks and other relevant engineering software
Experience with solidification modelling
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Ability to work in office and manufacturing setting, as there is a significant presence required on the shop floor to meet oversight of engineering and manufacturing standards and procedures

Pay: $70,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
