Job Overview

Join our dynamic team as a Housekeeping Floor Care Specialist and play a vital role in maintaining a pristine, safe, and welcoming environment. In this energetic position, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional floor cleaning and maintenance services across various commercial and institutional settings. Your expertise will ensure floors are spotless, well-maintained, and visually appealing, contributing to a positive experience for all visitors and staff. This role offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your skills in floor care, chemical handling, and customer service while working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Duties

Perform comprehensive cleaning of floors using various equipment such as floor scrubbers, buffers, waxers, and carpet cleaning machines to ensure surfaces are spotless and well-maintained.
Handle and apply floor cleaning chemicals safely, following all environmental and safety protocols to protect yourself and the environment.
Conduct floor refinishing tasks including buffing, waxing, polishing, and sealing to restore the appearance of different flooring types.
Execute heavy lifting tasks involving equipment or materials necessary for thorough cleaning or maintenance activities.
Maintain cleanliness standards by performing janitorial duties such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and detailed cleaning of designated areas.
Use proper manual handling techniques to move furniture or equipment safely without damage or injury.
Ensure all cleaning equipment is properly maintained, stored securely, and used efficiently to maximize productivity.
Follow established procedures for carpet cleaning and spot removal to uphold high standards of cleanliness across all flooring surfaces.
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to prioritize tasks, report maintenance needs or safety hazards promptly, and ensure consistent quality of service.

Experience

Previous custodial or janitorial experience in commercial or institutional environments is highly preferred.
Hands-on experience with floor scrubbing, buffing, waxing, and refinishing techniques is essential.
Knowledge of environmental services practices including chemical agent handling and safe use of cleaning chemicals is required.
Familiarity with various cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers, polishers, carpet cleaners, and vacuums is necessary.
Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with team members and clients alike.
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during routine cleaning tasks.
Experience working within environmental safety guidelines ensures compliance with health standards related to chemical use and manual handling.
