The Center for Urban Teaching (CfUT) is a Christian nonprofit organization that exists to identify, prepare, and support high-performing urban teachers, leaders, and schools. We save school partners hundreds of hours by identifying top teaching talent as early as freshman year of college and top leadership talent as early as their second year of teaching. Through coaching, professional development, leadership development, and school partnerships, we help educators thrive so that students can succeed.

About the Role
The Teacher & Leader Development Coach exists to help exceptional teachers and school leaders stay, grow, and thrive in urban education. Through individualized coaching, meaningful professional development, authentic relationship-building, and trusted mentorship, this role strengthens educator effectiveness, increases long-term retention, and ultimately improves outcomes for students.As a trusted partner to teachers, school leaders, and partner schools, you'll cultivate competence, confidence, character, and commitment while helping educators maximize their impact in the classroom and beyond.

How You’ll Make an Impact
As a Teacher & Leader Development Coach, you'll help exceptional educators grow, thrive, and increase their impact by:
- Accelerating teacher and leader growth through individualized coaching, classroom observations, actionable feedback, modeling, and ongoing support that strengthens instructional practice and leadership effectiveness.
- Developing educators through meaningful learning experiences by designing and facilitating professional development, leadership training, and learning opportunities that build the skills, confidence, and capacity of teachers and leaders.
- Building trusted partnerships with educators and schools by developing strong relationships with teachers, school leaders, and partner organizations that support educator effectiveness and long-term retention.
- Strengthening the pipeline of future educators and leaders by recruiting, selecting, and supporting teacher and leadership candidates who are committed to excellence in urban education.
- Helping educators remain connected and committed to the mission by engaging CfUT alumni and creating opportunities for continued growth, collaboration, and impact throughout their careers.
- Using data to drive improvement and celebrate progress by tracking growth, analyzing outcomes, and continuously improving coaching strategies and program effectiveness.
- Expanding CfUT's impact beyond individual coaching relationships by contributing to strategic initiatives, conferences, summer programming, and organizational projects that strengthen our ability to develop great teachers and leaders.
