Retail Pharmacy Technician in Milwaukee, WI. This is a full-time position.

Summary
The Pharmacy Technician supports clinical pharmacists in ensuring the safe and effective use of medications by serving as a key liaison between patients, providers, pharmacies, and insurance companies. Working under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, the pharmacy technician plays an important role in delivering medication and pharmaceutical care in communities that are most in need. This includes developing close relationships with patients in communities we serve and assisting the pharmacists in accurately preparing and delivering prescription medication. The technician ensures compliance with PCHC policies, regulatory standards, and Wisconsin Pharmacy Examining Board requirements.
Responsibilities
Service – These duties focus on direct support, coordination, and navigation of health and community services to help patients access the care and resources they need.

Empowerment – These responsibilities center on providing direct support in medication management, coordinating with pharmacists and healthcare providers, and assisting patients in accessing prescriptions and related healthcare resources.

Ability to become a subject matter expert (SME) in all pharmacy-related workflows, policies, and procedures

Accurate medication name pronunciation.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE-
High school diploma or general education equivalent required

LPT - Licensed Pharmacy Tech Active: current pharmacy technician license in good standing in Wisconsin required

At least 2 years with retail pharmacy technician related experience, preferred
- 340B experience preferred

Prior authorization review processes and Epic knowledge preferred

Basic computer skills and experience in data entry using Excel, Access or equivalent computer background.
