Full Job Description

Job Summary

Provide operational, administrative, and technical support to the Manager, Building Operations in overseeing the District's building operations, custodial services, grounds, pest management, and specialized maintenance functions. This role assists in coordinating multi-site operations, monitoring performance and compliance, supporting budgeting and resource management, and facilitating communication among stakeholders. The Supervisor II, Building Operations helps ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality facility operations while supporting workforce management and continuous improvement initiatives.

The salary range is ;$95,000 -105,000 ;(12 months/260 days) ;

Responsibilities

Operational Coordination and Support

;

Assist in the day-to-day coordination of building operations across multiple district sites.

Support scheduling and deployment of custodial, grounds, and maintenance personnel
Monitor service delivery, productivity, and adherence to operational standards
Conduct site visits to observe operations and identify improvement opportunities
Assist with implementation of operational procedures, standards, and best practices
Coordinate work orders, service requests, and follow-up activities.

Workforce Support and Administration

;

Provide administrative and coordination support for workforce management activities.

Assist with onboarding, training coordination, and recordkeeping for staff
Support performance management processes, including documentation and tracking
Help coordinate employee schedules, timekeeping, and staffing adjustments
Maintain personnel records and assist with compliance related to labor agreements
Serve as a point of contact for routine staff inquiries

Budget and Resource Support

;

Assist in financial tracking and resource planning activities.

Track expenditures for supplies, equipment, and contracted services
Assist in preparing budget reports and monitoring budget performance
Support inventory control and procurement processes
Identify opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiencies

;

Compliance, Inspection, and Quality Assurance

;

Support efforts to maintain regulatory compliance and service quality.

Conduct routine inspections of facilities and grounds for cleanliness, safety, and compliance
Document findings and assist in developing corrective action plans
Monitor adherence to environmental, health, and safety regulations
Assist with audits, reporting and compliance documentation

;

Communication and Stakeholder Support

;

Facilitate communication between operations teams and stakeholders.

Respond to routine inquiries and service concerns from school staff and departments
Assist in preparing reports, presentations, and communications
Coordinate meetings, site visits, and stakeholder updates
Support escalation of issues to the Manager Ill as appropriate

Qualifications

Education ;Requirements:

;

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Facility Management from an accredited college or university. ;A combination of education and experience may be considered. ;
Possess at minimum a current Third-Class Engineer License from the American Society of Power Engineers on appointment and kept current throughout employment
State of Wisconsin Pesticide Certification Category 7.1 within six months of appointment and kept current throughout employment.
Current National Swimming Pool Foundation Certification as a Certified Pool Operator on appointment and kept current throughout employment
Possession of an International Executive Housekeeper's Association (IEHA) Certificate is desirable
Must have a valid State of Wisconsin Motor Vehicle Operator's license and availability of a properly insured personal vehicle on appointment and during employment

Experience ;Requirements:

;

Requires a minimum of seven years of experience performing duties related to the above listed essential functions managing at least 200 workers at buildings totaling a minimum of five-million square feet, at least five of the buildings must have been 250,000 to 400,000 square feet each
A minimum of eight years of related experience in power engineering and building system operations
Supervisory experience must include handling personnel and labor relations issues, including grievances and disciplinary action.

Office environment
Occasional school/site visits
May be exposed to dirty and dusty conditions on a limited basis
This position requires the incumbent to be on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week to handle problems that develop

Physical Demands:

The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold and wet/humid
