Full Job Description

Judge Direct Placement is seeking an Assistant Plant Manager for a well-established second-process meat manufacturing facility.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious operations leader to work alongside an experienced Plant Manager, gain exposure to all aspects of the business, and ultimately step into the Plant Manager role.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee daily production operations and ensure production targets are met
Lead, coach, and develop a team of approximately 20 production employees
Ensure compliance with all USDA regulations, HACCP requirements, and food safety standards
Monitor productivity, quality, efficiency, and labor utilization
Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
Collaborate with quality, maintenance, and other departments to support operational goals
Assist in planning and executing long-term operational strategies
Train under the current Plant Manager to develop a comprehensive understanding of facility operations and leadership responsibilities

Qualifications

Required

HACCP Certification
Experience working in a USDA-inspected manufacturing facility
Management or supervisory experience within a food manufacturing environment
Strong understanding of food safety, quality systems, and regulatory compliance

Preferred

Background in meat processing or protein manufacturing
Experience leading teams in a food production environment
Stable employment history with reputable food manufacturers
Demonstrated leadership ability and potential to advance into a Plant Manager role

The ideal candidate will come from a meat processing background; however, candidates with strong food manufacturing experience, proven management skills, and a stable employment history will also be considered. We are seeking a hands-on leader who can build relationships with employees, drive results, and grow into a key leadership position within the organization.
