Full Job Description

Overview
Good Source Foods is seeking an experienced sales leader with direct customer calling skills, a contact list in the Great Lakes region and beyond, and the ability to promote new store placements into profitable and expanding relationships. This is a unique opportunity to build a sales function from the ground up—targeting independent and chain grocery retailers and managing key distributor relationships in a highly strategic, yet scrappy environment.

The ideal candidate has direct sales experience in the nutritional snack segment working with grocery chains and national distributors, is fluent in EDI platforms and processes, capable of managing complex sales networks, comfortable building pipeline and processes where little currently exists, and familiarity with growing ecommerce and DTC channels. This individual will manage a small internal team, a handful of existing high-quality customers, and work closely with cross-functional leadership to execute an expanding go-to-market sales effort.

This is a high-impact, player-coach role for someone who thrives in growth-stage environments and is ready to take ownership of scaling a product line with untapped potential for national distribution and follow-on products.

Duties

Quickly engage with current customers and build those relationships into highly referenceable accounts in specialty grocery and mass distribution channels.
Identify, pursue, and secure new retail accounts, with a focus on chain grocery stores and multi-state operators.
Manage and build relationships with independent and regional distributors, including retailer target identification, promotional campaigns, and performance tracking.
Navigate and manage distribution network platforms for order processing, compliance, and retailer integration, & inventory control by providing coaching, structure, and accountability for direct reports.
Collaborate with company President, in-house personnel, and selected consultants to optimize performance across eCommerce social media direct-to-consumer (DTC) channels, online marketplaces, and company website.
Participate in weekly, monthly, and annual management meetings by developing and publishing the following plans and reports:
Annual Sales and Monthly Financial Plan in form and substance acceptable to the President and the Board of Directors.

Monthly Customer & Product Profitability

New Product Development

Oversee pricing strategy, promotional calendar, and trade spend optimization
Collaborate with internal teams (marketing, operations, finance) to align sales strategies with production capabilities and margin targets
Represent the brand at industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings as needed

We're looking for someone with 7+ years of progressive sales experience in CPG industry with a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude to building infrastructure, process, and pipeline from a small base of current customers to a strong presence in the Great Lakes region and ultimately to a selected network of national retailers like Walmart, Target and Costco.

Pay will be dependent on experience, with a competitive base salary and bonus/commission structure based on results. After 30 days candidate will be eligible to participate in company benefit and insurance plans. After 12 months of successful sale performance, and the recommendation of the company President, the successful candidate will be eligible for participation in the company’s Executive Stock Option Plan.
