Full Job Description

Midwest Disability is a Social Security Disability law firm located in Coon Rapids, MN. We are currently seeking an individual with a high level of customer service to work in our Applications Department.

Position Summary:

Application Specialists assist our clients with filing applications for Social Security Disability and Supplemental Security Income benefits. If a client needs assistance, the Application Specialist will look up their doctor and/or hospital information on the internet to ensure the application information is accurate.

Hours, Compensation, and Benefits:

Compensation: $14.00/hour
Monthly monetary Incentive program available
· Full Time, Weekdays, Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm (this is an in office position)

Job Duties:

Responds to high volume of inbound and outbound phone calls
Complete checklists, Social Security Applications and Report Forms either online or when necessary on paper with clients
Display a willingness to empathize with our clients’ needs and dedicate the time needed to properly resolve all inquires to ensure clients’ satisfaction with our services is provided
Multitask online applications while speaking on the phone (position involves a significant amount of keyboarding)
General office duties include faxing, scanning, copying, emailing and data entry

Job Requirements:

Minimum of high school diploma or GED equivalent
At least one-year customer service experience preferred
Strong work ethic and high expectations for personal and employee performance
Strong typing skills, internet navigation, proficient in Microsoft Word and Outlook
Excellent interpersonal and good listening skills
Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely, and adapt messages to a variety of audiences

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Occasionally required to stand.
Occasionally required to walk.
Continually required to sit.
Continually required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
Occasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl.
Continually required to talk or hear.
Continually required to lift/push light weights less than 25 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus
