Full Job Description

Job Summary

The Employment Advisor assists in employment search processes for people with disabilities who have the ability to work independently and are requesting job development and search process assistance through TSE. This will be accomplished through resume building, setting up job tours and effectively networking with community businesses and potential employers to determine the best job / skill fit and ultimately lead to job placement.

Includes attending intake meetings (as appropriate), developing employment plans, and reviewing individual plans and related files. As a part of this, the Employment Advisor will assess the desired skills needed in today’s market and assist with onboarding and job site start up. The information will provide direction for the Skills Trainers as they develop skills training curriculum.

Responsibilities and Duties

Facilitation and presentation skills and/or experience required
Demonstrated experience in establishing, building, and sustaining employment partnerships and collaborations with an array of businesses and individuals
Ability to network and build collaborative relationships and partnerships within the private sector as well as with public sources
Knowledge of management principles involved in program delivery, resource allocation, leadership techniques and the effective use of time and resources
Ability to work and make judgments independently and take initiative
Experience with government relations processes
Demonstrated ability to work efficiently with multiple deadlines and changing priorities
Able to work independently with little supervision, using strong time management skills
Qualifications and Skills
One year experience in vocational/employment counseling, case management, vocation rehabilitation, and supported work settings
A bachelor’s degree related to the responsibilities of the position or two years combined equivalent experience and/or training the human services or related field
A valid driver’s license with a good driving record, access to a reliable vehicle, and ability to meet company’s driving requirements
Competency in Microsoft Office Suites, email and internet
