FAMILY SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE
Two Part-Time Positions

Position Summary
HIRING 2 PART-TIME FAMILY SERVICE REPRESENTATIVES
The Family Service Representative serves as a compassionate resource for families while supporting the mission of the cemetery through exceptional customer service, education, and sales. This position assists families with both immediate and future cemetery needs, including interment arrangements, burial rights, memorialization, and cemetery services.
As a representative of a nonprofit 501(c)(13) cemetery, this individual is expected to provide caring guidance to families while preserving the dignity, history, and perpetual care mission of the cemetery. The Family Service Representative develops long-term relationships with families, assists existing lot owners, and educates the public regarding burial, cremation placement, and memorialization options.

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesFamily Services
· Meet with families to arrange cemetery services following a death.
· Guide families through burial, cremation, memorialization, and interment options.
· Coordinate interment scheduling with funeral homes, clergy, monument companies, and cemetery operations staff.
· Prepare contracts, deeds, permits, and other cemetery documentation accurately.
· Explain cemetery rules, policies, pricing, and perpetual care.
· Respond compassionately to questions from families, funeral directors, and visitors.
· Assist families with locating gravesites and researching ownership records.
· Resolve customer concerns professionally and respectfully.
Sales Responsibilities
Educate and assist families in selecting cemetery property and memorial products, including:
· Traditional graves
· Cremation graves
· Niches and columbarium spaces
· Family and private estates
· Mausoleum crypts
· Grave markers
· Monuments
· Memorial benches
· Bronze and granite products
· Cremation memorialization options
· Other cemetery merchandise and ancillary products
· Chapel/Gathering Room/Catering arrangements
Additional sales responsibilities include:
· Follow up with prospective families.
· Generate referrals through exceptional customer service.
· Maintain accurate customer records manually and within the cemetery management software.
· Achieve established sales and service goals while maintaining the highest ethical standards.
· Participate in community outreach, educational seminars, and cemetery events.
· Other tasks as assigned by management.
Administrative Responsibilities
· Maintain accurate contracts and financial records.
· Process payments and purchase documents.
· Prepare correspondence and customer communications.
· Maintain confidentiality of customer information.
· Support office operations and reception duties as needed.
Required Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent required.
· Associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
· Minimum two years of customer service experience.
· Minimum two years of sales experience.
· MN Life Insurance Producer License and ability to be appointed.
· Experience in cemetery, funeral service, healthcare, hospice, real estate, banking, or other consultative service industries is highly desirable.
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
· Strong organizational and computer skills.
· Ability to work in emotionally sensitive situations.
· Valid driver's license.

Work Schedule
The normal work schedules are:
· Position 1: Monday, Tuesday, and every other Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.; corresponding every other Saturday, 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. (later as needed).
· Position 2: Wednesday, Thursday, and every other Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.; corresponding every other Saturday, 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. (later as needed).
Because cemetery service is family-centered, flexibility is an essential function of this position. Employees must be available to work Saturdays as scheduled and additional as needed; Sundays as needed; Memorial Day weekend (required based on operational needs); and occasional evenings. Work schedules may be adjusted to meet the needs of families and cemetery operations.
Physical Requirements
· Walk throughout cemetery grounds in various weather conditions.
· Sit and stand for extended periods.
· Lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
· Operate standard office equipment.
· Traverse uneven terrain.
Working Conditions
The work is performed in both an office environment and outdoors throughout the cemetery in varying weather conditions. The position frequently involves interaction with grieving families and requires professionalism, patience, compassion, and emotional maturity.
Compensation
Hourly pay range: $24.00–$38.50 per hour. This is the good-faith anticipated hourly compensation range for the position at the time of posting. Actual starting pay within the range may vary based on relevant qualifications and experience.
