LEGISLATIVE ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

Lockridge Grindal Nauen PLLP is a litigation and lobbying firm, serving clients throughout the Midwest and across the country for over forty years. The firm employs the largest contract government relations team in Minnesota with ten lobbyists on the St. Paul/Minneapolis team and several administrative professionals. The bipartisan team represents a broad variety of clients at the State Capitol including large and small businesses, non-profits and advocacy organizations, and membership trade groups. While the LGN office is in downtown Minneapolis, the government relations team traditionally spends most of their time at the State Capitol during the legislative session.

WHAT YOU BRING

You are a resourceful, self-motivated individual with excellent communication skills and an interest in government. You can organize and manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a detail-oriented work environment. You adapt to changes in workflow and excel in communication and follow up. You prefer a support role and become an integral member of the firm, critical to our success.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Schedule meetings for government relations team members.

· Monitor committee meetings and House and Senate floor sessions.

· Provide clear, timely, written notes to team members on press conferences, committee meetings, floor sessions and more.

· Plan and execute “Day at the Capitol” events.

· Assist with client research as necessary.

· Facilitate marketing initiatives in conjunction with the Marketing Coordinator.

· Coordinate and assist with requests for proposals.

· Review bill introductions and help manage bill trackers.

· Draft written updates for clients as needed.

· Excellent organizational, planning and prioritization skills with strong attention to detail.

· Ability to work with and take direction from multiple individuals, as well as the ability to work independently.

· Cooperation and the ability to collaborate in a team environment.

· Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

· Positive and professional demeanor.

Job Type: Full-time, non-exempt

Job Location: Hybrid work schedule with a minimum of three days per week spent in our Minneapolis office. First 90 days are fully in office to promote collaboration and an effective onboarding experience.

Salary Range: $62,000 - $68,000 annually, depending on experience.
