Goff Public, an award-winning public relations and public affairs agency based in Saint Paul, seeks a motivated communications professional to join our firm as a senior account executive.
This position is responsible for the day-to-day execution of a wide range of public relations and community engagement campaigns for clients across multiple sectors, including government, nonprofit and corporate organizations. Strong candidates will bring exceptional writing skills, experience supporting public relations and community engagement initiatives, and a demonstrated ability to communicate clearly with a variety of audiences. Candidates should be ready to deliver high-quality work on multiple projects in a fast-paced, high-performing, team-focused environment.
About the position
This position requires a candidate who can serve multiple clients in seamless collaboration with Goff Public teammates, including:
- Planning, coordinating and executing agency work in support of assigned clients
- Managing deadlines and working within account teams to contribute ideas and execute tasks , including:
o Media relations:
- Writing press releases and media materials in AP Style
- Developing media lists and distributing press releases and other media materials
- Pitching stories to the media
- Preparing clients for media interviews and staffing client media engagements
- Monitoring and analyzing media coverage and social media; preparing reports for internal teams or clients
o Communications to support community engagement activities:
- Conveying technical information in plain language for public audiences
- Coordinating public meetings and community events
- Drafting promotional materials, including emails, website content, etc.
- Coordinating social media and digital ad campaigns
- Incorporating accessibility best practices
- Creating inclusive engagement strategies and coordinating translations
- Responding to stakeholder concerns
- Planning and executing communications support for public affairs campaigns
- Building and implementing executive visibility and thought leadership strategies and campaigns
- Researching, writing, editing and proofreading materials
Strong candidates will also have demonstrated many of the following traits and skillsets in their previous professional experiences:
- Excellent writing, editing and proofing skills for a variety of channels
- Strong interpersonal skills — collaborative, confident, professional, friendly and poised
- Excellent project management skills, including the ability to multitask and meet daily deadlines; experience with project management software is a plus
- Enthusiasm for taking on tasks across all levels of the organization to best serve clients
- Eager to communicate inclusively, remove barriers and build relationships with people from all backgrounds
- Proactive, hardworking and detail oriented
- Ethical, honest and sound personal judgment
- Curious, inquisitive and a fast learner
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced and collaborative environment
Candidates should have four to six years of experience in public relations, communications, community engagement or related fields. Strong candidates will have experience working in corporate or government communications, community engagement and/or agency roles.
The anticipated salary range is $68,000-$80,000.
