Full Job Description

Job Overview

Join our team at Jersey Mike’s Subs as a General Manager and lead a high-performing restaurant in a fast-paced, high-energy environment built on service, quality, and community. This is a senior leadership role responsible for driving operational excellence, developing talent, and delivering strong financial performance.

As a General Manager, you will have full ownership of your restaurant’s success—including team development, guest experience, and profitability. You will be expected to build a culture of accountability, lead from the front during peak hours, and ensure every sub is made “Mike’s Way” with consistency and precision.

This is a salaried leadership position offering significant growth opportunities within a rapidly expanding, multi-unit franchise organization.

Key Responsibilities

Own and oversee all aspects of restaurant operations, including sales, profitability, and team performance
Lead, develop, and hold accountable a team of Assistant Managers, Shift Leaders, and Crew Members
Drive top-line sales through operational execution, speed of service, and local store marketing (LSM) initiatives
Manage labor, scheduling, and deployment to achieve targeted sales per labor hour (SPLH) and labor percentages
Ensure consistent execution of brand standards, including proper portioning, slicer usage, and “Mike’s Way” preparation
Maintain strict control over food cost, inventory, ordering, and product yields
Enforce all food safety, sanitation, and operational compliance standards
Oversee cash controls, deposits, and financial reporting accuracy
Lead training and development programs to build internal bench strength and future leaders
Maintain a strong in-store presence, especially during peak lunch and dinner hours
Foster a positive, team-first culture rooted in accountability, respect, and performance

Qualifications

2+ years of restaurant leadership experience, with General Manager or equivalent experience preferred
Proven ability to drive sales, manage P&L performance, and control labor and food costs
Strong leadership skills with a track record of developing high-performing teams
Deep understanding of high-volume QSR or fast-casual operations
Experience with POS systems, scheduling, inventory management, and cash controls
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work a minimum 50-hour workweek, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Hands-on leadership style with a commitment to being present in the restaurant during guest hours

Compensation & Benefits
