Full Job Description

Department: Gordon B. Olson Library

Hours: 5–10 hours/week (Depending on availability)

About the Position:

The Gordon B. Olson Library is looking for a creative, student-focused worker to help manage our social media presence and assist with day-to-day library operations. This position offers a flexible campus schedule of 5 to 10 hours a week, with all work taking place in the library, making it a great opportunity to build skills in content creation, public relations, and customer service right on campus.

Duties & Responsibilities:

In this role, you will create, schedule, and post engaging content across the library’s social media platforms to promote resources, events, and campus programs. You will also monitor channel engagement and help brainstorm fresh ideas to connect with students. In addition to social media duties, you will assist patrons at the circulation desk with checking out materials and account inquiries and handle other light duties around the library as assigned.

Qualifications:

Must be a currently enrolled student. Applicants should have familiarity with popular social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook) and basic visual content creation tools (like Canva or similar apps). We are seeking candidates who bring a positive, customer-service-oriented attitude, strong communication skills, good attention to detail, and dependability.
