We are seeking an experienced, dependable, and customer-focused Part-Time Medical Assistant or Certified Phlebotomist to join our team. This position requires exceptional phlebotomy skills, outstanding customer service, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced retail healthcare environment.
In addition to performing blood collections, this role includes front office responsibilities such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, assisting customers, processing payments, entering patient information, and educating clients about our testing services. This position also involves community outreach and promoting our services to local businesses. Compensation is based on experience.
Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and specimen collections accurately and efficiently.
- Ensure proper specimen handling, labeling, and processing.
- Perform DOT and non-DOT drug and alcohol collections in accordance with federal regulations and company procedures.
- Provide exceptional customer service and create a welcoming experience for every customer.
- Answer incoming phone calls and schedule appointments.
- Process patient registrations and maintain accurate electronic records.
- Educate customers on available laboratory testing services and recommend appropriate products and services.
- Promote our services through community outreach and relationship-building with local businesses.
- Track inventory, maintain supplies, and assist with ordering as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment.
- Follow all company policies, HIPAA regulations, safety standards, and established procedures.
Qualifications
Required:
- Minimum of 2 years of phlebotomy experience
- Proficient in venipuncture with excellent blood collection skills
- Knowledge of common laboratory tests and specimen requirements
- Certified Medical Assistant or Certified Phlebotomist
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and a high degree of accuracy
- Computer proficiency, including email, spreadsheets, and QuickBooks
- Ability to multitask, work independently, and prioritize responsibilities
- Dependable, trustworthy, professional, self-motivated, and a team player
- Receptive to coaching and feedback with a commitment to continuous learning and following established procedures
- Ability to ask questions when clarification is needed and consistently follow detailed instructions
- Ability to perform community outreach and introduce businesses to our services
- Comfortable discussing and promoting our products and services
- Must successfully pass a background check and drug screen
- Experience performing DOT drug and alcohol collections preferred, or willingness to successfully complete DOT collector training upon hire
Preferred:
- Retail sales or customer service experience
- Experience working in a retail healthcare, physician office, or laboratory setting
